Is there too much excess baggage from past love and sex life?

i recently met a guy who is very quiet and calm natured, and i am more outgoing type. he was in a relation for 8 years and recently broke up. we both are very interested in each other, but i am afraid to enter a romantic intimate relation with him because i think that he may be always comparing me to his past lover in his mind, and i am not sure how healthy that is for him. am i being insecure? or is this realistic thought?

just dont have sex for awhile wait untill you know that he loves you, then if he loves you there will be no comparison in his mind whatsoever, take a chance and trust me, if he is a real guy thats how it is
